Safety Resources & Best Practices
CareAgora is an independent marketplace that connects families and caregivers. We provide tools, resources, and optional background verification to help you make informed decisions — but we do not employ, supervise, or guarantee the conduct of any caregiver. Families are responsible for their own due diligence.

Our Verification System
Background verification helps improve safety but does not guarantee future conduct. Families should always conduct their own interviews and reference checks.
Tier 1 — Child & Nanny Caregivers
Mandatory before any profile goes live. Includes:
- Criminal background check
- National sex offender registry
- Child abuse & neglect registry
- Violent crime check
- Document must be dated within 12 months
Tier 2 — Senior, Pet & Housekeeping
Background check document required on file. Includes:
- Verified background check document
- Document must be dated within 12 months
- Stored securely — shared only with caregiver consent
- Families encouraged to do their own reference checks
AI Deep Scan Engine
Every submitted document is cross-referenced against national sex offender registries, child abuse databases, and criminal records before human admin review. Documents from unrecognized providers or older than 12 months are flagged automatically.
Rolling 90-Day Monitoring
Active caregivers are automatically rescanned every 90 days. If a new disqualifying record is detected, the profile is immediately suspended and admins are alerted — no exceptions. Permanent rejections for sex offenses, child abuse, or violent crimes are irreversible.
